Major story breaking! This is BIG! Something the “real” media should have been investigating.

 Rusty Shackleford and Ace of Spades HQ have tied a major PR Firm a video released on youtube smearing Gov. Sarah Palin. 

From the Jawa Report:

• Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.

• The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.

• Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.

• Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.

• The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.

• This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”

• David Axelrod is Barack Obama’s chief media strategist.

• The same voice-over artist has worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign.

Last week Barbara Hall’s kindred spirit Kalifornia State Senator Pat “Douch Bag” Wiggins (D-Santa Rosa) popped off on Pastor Robert Jones who was testifying in an “informal” global warming hearing to the fact that some steps by Kalifornia to reduce “Green House” emissions will have a higher impact on low income and minorities than say millionaires like Rob “The Meathead” Reiner or George ”The Shithead” Clooney.

Now she’s trying to “apologize” ….

State Sen. Pat Wiggins, D-Santa Rosa, is attempting to apologize to a church pastor for a profane comment she directed at him during a committee hearing on global warming.

“The senator deeply regrets her comment, but feels that this issue is between her and the pastor to whom she is seeking to apologize personally,” Wiggins’ spokesman, David Miller, said Monday. —-Guy Kovner, Press Democrat

Al Gore’s new “Green” Houseboat.

The “Toyota Prius” of boats.   Righhhhht. Does a person who thinks the world is “doomed” buy a boat like this?

 It was initially hailed as Sydney’s first snowfall in 172 years, but it turned out yesterday’s severe weather was only hail.

Australian locals still managed to go sledding, throw some snowballs and make a snowman (or in this case, hailballs and hailman) today.

Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology says what actually fell was ‘soft hail’ and that conditions were not quite cold enough to produce snow.

The last time Sydney supposedly had a snowfall was 1836 although some scientists believe officials back then just mistook soft hail for snow.

Whatever it was, residents in the Lindfield neighbourhood on Sydney’s north shore enjoyed a bit of winter fun. —–RTE, Ireland

Oh… only “hail” in the sub tropics. Ok,  we’ll go back to doing what we were doing.  I bet if Denver or Calgary didn’t have snow in say December/January in the first time in 172 years this would be a MAJOR news item. I think everyone in Australia now should be forced to buy Hummers to combat this global cooling problem.

Also, in my experience growing up in Canuckastan you CAN’T make snowmen or snowballs out of hail.  What they probably saw (based on the pictures I’ve seen) in Sydney was graupel which, I think, is more snow than hail.  Help me out here. 

Something you will not read or hear about in the MSM :

If the current trend holds, Anchorage is on pace to produce the fewest days ever recorded in one year to hit 65 degrees or higher.

The record was set in 1970, when the temperature climbed over 65 degrees only 16 times.

You might even be able to make that 60-degree days.

This year, there’s only been 35 days above that mark in Anchorage, well below the record low of 46 such days, set in 1971.

- 70-degree days. So far this summer there have been two. Usually there are 15, and last year there were 21.

- 75-degree days. This summer, there’s been none, so far. Usually there are four, and last year, there were 21.

That’s what Columbia’s Shared Responsibility Program is trying to promote to North American and European cocaine users.

Ana Maria Caballero believes that many recreational cocaine users are well-educated professionals who also recycle, drive hybrid vehicles, and buy fair-trade products, but that they just don’t understand what cocaine is doing to Colombia’s environment. —Murray Carpenter, CSM

According to the program there has been a massive amount of destruction and damage to Columbia’s environment due to cocaine:

43 square feet of forest are cleared to produce one gram of cocaine, and coca growers have cleared an area the size of New Jersey – nearly five million acres – within Colombia over the past 20 years.

Clandestine cocaine laboratories, which use an array of toxic chemicals, pollute once-pristine waters in remote areas. And slash-and-burn clearing for coca farms is one of the country’s largest sources of air pollution. The clearing also accelerates global climate change, which is shrinking Colombia’s mountaintop glaciers. — Murray Carpenter, CSM

 Will this program get through to European and North American recreational cocaine users like BNL’s lead singer, enviromentalist and NDP supporter Steve Page?  Probably not:

“It’s probably not something that would influence me,” says one environmentally minded, occasional cocaine user who did not want her name used. She says she would rather see a more holistic approach to addressing drugs in society. And she says there are some times when she wants to turn her environmental filter off. “We all have our vices,” she says, “and you don’t want to think about this.” —- CSM

It seems for some enviro warriors their “enviromental filters” are only on for oil companies and SUV drivers.  Keep your hands off their drugs!

The environmental group, better known for suing corporations, has agreed to promote a new line of eco-friendly Clorox products in exchange for a share of the profits. Some Sierra Club chapters are crying foul, and officers in northern Michigan even quit over the deal. — AP

Scientists are examining cow farts and burps in a novel bid to combat global warming.
