Today I will commit a Canadian Hate Crime

Yesterday Ezra Levant encouraged bloggers to republish Rev. Stephen Boission’s letter to the Red Deer Advocate. This letter got Rev. Boission’s charged with a “hate crime” by the Albert Human Rights Commission.

Some including Ezra republished the letter:

Do it to show that you have natural rights that predate, and exceed, any “human rights” given or taken away by Alberta’s human rights commission.

Do it to show that you’re alive. To feel alive. To show that democracy and freedom are still alive.

I have to tell you, I feel great. I’m going to post it again, right now. —- Ezra Levant

I’m with Ezra:re-posting Rev. Steven Boissoin’s “hate crime” on my blog makes me feel terrific! — Five Feet of Fury

I’m with Ezra. And Stephen Boissoin. I think I have just committed an hate crime. “I feel good ….. “ —— sleepyoldbear

Initially, I was going to publish the letter to show my disgust at the Human Rights Commissions in Canada. However there was just one thing. I don’t fully support most of  what Rev. Boissoin wrote in his letter (even though I FULLY support his natural right to write it). I’ve linked (which is also an offense in Canada) to three sites above so I encourage you (if you want) to read the letter there.

But, I still want to show my solidarity with all the “Free” Speechers in Canada. So I will commit my own Canadian “hate” crime in this post.

First here’s the section of the Canadian Human Rights Act I am going to break..

Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act (CHRA) empowers the Commission to deal with complaints regarding the communication of hate messages by telephone or on the Internet:

 13. (1) It is a discriminatory practice for a person or a group of persons acting in concert to communicate telephonically or to cause to be so communicated, repeatedly, in whole or in part by means of the facilities of a telecommunication undertaking within the legislative authority of Parliament, any matter that is likely to expose a person or persons to hatred or contempt by reason of the fact that person or those persons are identifiable on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination.

 Interpretation

 (2) For greater certainty, subsection (1) applies in respect of a matter that is communicated by means of a computer or a group of interconnected or related computers, including the Internet, or any similar means of communication, but does not apply in respect of a matter that is communicated in whole or in part by means of the facilities of a broadcasting undertaking.

It is also worthwhile to note that if charged under this act.  The truth is not an allowable defense.

So with that said I will commit my Canadian “Hate” Crime:

Seventeen of the nineteen September 11, 2001 hijackers were Saudi Nationals and all of them were of the Muslim Religion  —- Radio1

There Ezra was right.  I do feel better after commiting a Canadian ”hate” crime(s).

It is good to be able to go to bed at night, knowing that one has done something of cultural significance during the previous 16 hours. Every time we defy the thought and speech police we have done well.
